These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of services provided by Haugland Brothers Carpet & Floor Care ("we," "us," or "our"). By scheduling, accepting, or paying for our services, you agree to these Terms.
Services We Provide
We provide professional cleaning services for residential and commercial customers throughout the western Chicago suburbs, including but not limited to: carpet cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, hardwood floor cleaning, area rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning, shower and bathroom cleaning, natural stone cleaning, deck cleaning and staining, and commercial floor maintenance. Specific services to be performed are described in your written estimate or work order.
Estimates and Pricing
All written estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated. Estimates are based on the information you provide about the work and any in-person assessment our team performs. If actual conditions differ materially from the original assessment — for example, additional rooms, heavily soiled areas, or stains requiring extended treatment — we will discuss any change in scope or price with you before proceeding.
Verbal estimates are non-binding. Final pricing will be confirmed in writing before work begins or, for routine work, on the day of service.
Scheduling and Cancellations
We schedule appointments by mutual agreement and confirm by phone, text, or email the day before service. We ask that you provide clear access to the work area and remove fragile items prior to our arrival.
We require 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment without charge. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a trip fee equal to the cost of the dispatched crew. If our team arrives at the agreed time and is unable to access the property or perform the work due to circumstances within your control, the same trip fee applies.
We reserve the right to reschedule due to weather, equipment failure, or other circumstances beyond our control. We will make every reasonable effort to give you advance notice.
Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of services unless other arrangements have been made in writing. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover). Commercial accounts may be invoiced with terms agreed at the time of contract.
Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee. Past-due invoices accrue a finance charge of 1.5% per month (18% annually). You agree to pay reasonable collection costs, including attorney's fees, on amounts not paid when due.
Satisfaction Guarantee
We stand behind our work. If you are not satisfied with any cleaning service we have performed, please notify us within 7 days of the service date and we will return to re-clean the affected area at no additional charge. This guarantee applies to the services originally performed and does not cover damage caused by subsequent foot traffic, spills, or improper care.
Limitations and Customer Responsibilities
Cleaning is not restoration. While our team uses professional equipment and techniques to remove stains and soil, some materials and stains may not respond fully to cleaning. Examples include but are not limited to: permanent dye stains, bleach damage, sun-faded fibers, urine that has reached the carpet backing, and pre-existing wear or damage. We will discuss any such conditions with you before treatment when possible.
You acknowledge and agree that:
• Older carpets, rugs, and floors may show wear after cleaning that was previously masked by soil.
• Wood and natural stone surfaces have unique characteristics that may affect results.
• Drying time varies; we will provide estimated drying times and care instructions for the specific surface cleaned.
• You are responsible for disclosing any prior treatments, recent repairs, or known sensitivities to cleaning products.
Limitation of Liability
Our liability for any claim arising out of services we provide is limited to the cost of the affected service. We are not liable for damage caused by pre-existing conditions, hidden defects, manufacturer defects, or improper installation that becomes apparent during or after cleaning.
We are fully insured. Claims for damage allegedly caused by our work must be reported to us in writing within 7 days of the service date. We will inspect the property before any repair is initiated.
In no event are we liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of use or loss of business.
Photographs
We may photograph before and after results of work performed at your property for our portfolio, marketing, and quality records. Photos do not include personally identifying information unless you provide separate written consent. If you prefer that we not photograph your property, please notify us before the work begins.
Insurance and Licensing
We are fully insured and our technicians hold IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) credentials. A certificate of insurance is available on request for commercial customers and property managers.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook or DuPage County, Illinois.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
